Privacy Policy
MyRepCounter is built by Build The Stack. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what control you have over it.
The short version
- No account is required. You can use the app, the full exercise library and the Apple Watch app without giving us anything.
- Audio is not recorded. The microphone is used only to recognise the numbers you count during a set. Audio is processed for counting and is not stored or uploaded.
- Health data stays yours. Activity and heart rate come from Apple Health on your device, with your permission, and are not sold.
- We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to anyone.
1. Information we collect
Without an account
Your workouts, schedule, history and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not receive them.
If you create an account
We collect the details needed to run the account — typically your email address and an identifier — along with the workouts, records and preferences you choose to save so they can sync across your devices.
Diagnostics
We may receive crash reports and basic, aggregated usage statistics through Apple's standard developer tools, if you have allowed this in your device settings. These help us find bugs and are not used to identify you.
2. Microphone and rep counting
The rep counting feature asks for microphone access. While a set is active the app listens for spoken numbers and updates the rep meter. Audio is processed for the purpose of recognising counts and is not recorded, retained or transmitted to us.
Listening is optional. You can turn it off in Settings or for an individual workout and enter reps manually instead, and you can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings. The rest of the app continues to work.
3. Health and activity data
With your permission, MyRepCounter reads activity information from Apple Health — such as active calories, exercise time, step count, distance and heart rate during a workout — to display it on the home screen and in the energy window while you train. The app may also write completed workouts back to Apple Health.
Health data is handled under Apple's HealthKit rules. We do not use it for advertising or marketing, and we do not share it with third parties. You can review or withdraw these permissions at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.
4. How we use information
- To run the features you use: counting reps, tracking workouts, scheduling and history graphs.
- To sync your saved workouts and progress across your iPhone and Apple Watch, if you have an account.
- To diagnose crashes and improve stability and performance.
- To respond to you when you contact support.
6. Your choices and rights
- Use the app anonymously by not creating an account.
- Turn off microphone listening in the app's settings or in iOS Settings.
- Manage health permissions individually in the Health app.
- Access or delete your data. Email us and we will action the request for the data associated with your account.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal information, such as correction, portability or objection. Contact us and we will help.
7. Children
MyRepCounter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, note it in the app.
